Feast of Dedication: Reflections of the heart – Day 5

Hello friends – This is day five of a five day series of heart reflections on the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah). You can read previous posts and catch up here.

Thank you for joining me as I have unpacked simple yet profound truths, I’m discovering as I ponder the feast this year.

Each day was broken into three short sections:
A simple concept to consider with Holy Spirit.
An action step
A verse to ponder/pray.

Day 5 Rededicate – I don’t know about you but yesterday’s time with Jesus – dreaming about what could be – has given me hope! The beauty of what Holy Spirit can do with a life fully dedicated to him is like springtime after the long winter of my soul. So today, let’s take time and make a commitment. Let’s offer up the areas of our hearts, full of promise, to the One who promises to make all things new!

Take time to go through each area of your life that Holy Spirit revealed yesterday. You might even view the words or pictures you received as promises for this year. Trust me, friend, His heart toward you is to speak over over those places in your heart and your life and to reclaim them.

Act: Ask Holy Spirit to highlight the one, two or three areas where he would like to you to begin the work of rededication with Him. He may give you a way to commemorate the rededication. More than likely, He will give some specific instructions for you to maintain and care for these areas of your heart and life. Write them down and allow him to give you the plan on how to continue this journey with Him.

Ponder: Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Let me end this series with a note of encouragement and caution. Focus on one area at a time, and ask Holy Spirit to give you small action steps you can take daily. Otherwise, it can be overwhelming to look at all the areas at once and be tempted to fix them in our own strength. This can often lead to behavior modification in our flesh instead of heart/life transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit. God knows if you feel like you only have a small yes to offer. Jesus is the most kind and generous person I’ve ever met. He will bless your time and efforts as you rededicate the spaces in your heart and life with His help.

Thanks for joining me on this journey during the Feast of Dedication!
